Our Process

Every organisation starts from a different place. You may have a defined project, an early idea or a challenge you need help working through.

Spring Advisory works alongside your committee, board or management team to understand your priorities, assess the options and agree the support you need. We keep responsibilities clear and the next steps practical, so you know what is required at each stage.

A clear path from your first conversation to delivery

01 - Tell us what you want to achieve

Start with a conversation

We begin by learning about your organisation, the people it serves and its plans for the future. We discuss the project or challenge, what you have already done and where additional support would be useful.

You do not need a completed proposal before contacting us. An initial conversation can help clarify your idea and identify the questions that need answering.

03 - Agree the support

Set clear expectations from the outset

Before work begins, we agree the scope, deliverables, responsibilities, fees and terms.

We explain what Spring Advisory will handle and what your organisation needs to provide or approve. Together, we establish a realistic timetable that reflects deadlines and the availability of your team.

For CSFF application support, we work on a no win, no fee basis, with a fee of 4% of the total grant awarded if your application succeeds. Other advisory services are scoped and priced separately.

Understand what is possible and what is needed

We review the information available and consider the approaches that could suit your organisation.

For a funding project, this means assessing potential eligibility, project readiness, costs and supporting documentation. Where relevant, we also look at ownership, leases, shared-use arrangements and the funding your organisation may need to contribute.

For wider advisory work, we assess your current position and identify practical opportunities for improvement. We explain any gaps, dependencies or specialist advice needed before progressing.

02 - Assess the options

04 - Develop the proposal and prepare the documents

Build a clear case for your plans

We work with your team to turn the agreed approach into the documents and practical actions needed.

For a grant application, this can include developing the project case and budget, gathering quotations and records, and preparing the application. We help explain the need for the investment, who would benefit and how the project would support participation and community use.

For other services, this stage could involve a development plan, financial model, sponsorship proposal or recommendations for improving operations.

05 - Review, submit and respond

Keep your organisation involved in the decisions

We review the work with your nominated contacts so that the information is accurate, the proposal reflects your plans and the appropriate approvals are in place.

For funding applications, we support submission through the relevant system and assist with requests for clarification within the agreed scope. Your organisation remains responsible for approving the application and any declarations made on its behalf.

Funding decisions rest with the funder. We help you present a well-prepared case and understand the next steps when a decision is received.

06 - Support delivery and grant drawdown

Follow through after an award

Where agreed, our support continues beyond the application.

Following a grant award, we help your organisation understand the approval conditions, procurement requirements and records needed for payment claims. We can support supplier selection, review budgets and schedules, and coordinate documentation for grant drawdown.

We also help you plan for payment timing and any upfront expenditure, so the project’s cash-flow requirements are understood before commitments are made. Where technical or legal expertise is needed, we help identify when to involve the appropriate professionals.

07 - Consider what comes next

Build on the progress you have made

Once the agreed work is complete, we review the outcome with your team and discuss any further priorities.

That may mean planning the next phase of a facility project, developing new income, improving committee processes or preparing a longer-term development plan. Any additional work is discussed and agreed separately, based on what would be useful to your organisation.

Let’s talk about your next step

Whether your plans are at an early stage or ready to progress, we would welcome a conversation about how Spring Advisory can support you.
